Calling everyone who works on product copy: Ditto has gotten a facelift! The next time you log in, you’ll see a few key changes and enhancements to your navigation.
What’s Changed:
A Shiny New Home Page: Your new custom homepage was built to make it easier to get started faster, and find the right next project to work on, from one central hub. New users will have a place to land, and a guide to get started. Returning users will see the most important to-dos, based on their work in progress. Check out your new homepage to jump back into recent work, review tasks assigned to you, and catch up on active discussions.
Developers Page: We've carved out a special space just for developer integrations within Ditto. This new main page is your one-stop shop for everything you need to import string files, get Ditto connected with your API, and set up webhooks to automate your copy update process. Plus, an added bonus: every user, regardless of tier, can now try out our developer integrations with a free 14-day trial. Curious about connecting your product copy to your production environment? Now's your chance to experience the magic firsthand!
New Lefthand Nav 😎: Navigate Ditto like a pro with our revamped menu. Build your component library, browse integrations, and invite your teammates to collaborate on copy, all with the click of a button.
Why we made these changes:
We want to simplify getting started. We know building a product copy workflow from scratch can be daunting, so we’re making it easier than ever to get started. These enhancements should make it simple to dive into Ditto and know the next right thing to do.
We want to build a workflow that works for your whole team. The best product copy is a team effort, with crucial opinions to incorporate from product, engineering, marketing, legal, and leadership, just to name a few. These product investments should make it easy for stakeholders across teams to jump in and own their part: from drafting, to review, to development.
We want to make it easy to integrate Ditto into production workflows. When it comes to putting product text into production, we believe it shouldn’t be copy/paste purgatory. That's why we're shining a spotlight on Ditto's investment in developer tools. From surfacing our detailed developer docs to providing a dedicated home for API integrations, we've got your back every step of the way.
Setting the stage for more to come:
This product investment was crucial to focus on the core workflows you need to embed Ditto as infrastructure for managing product text. Instead of always thinking about product text for an individual project, we’ve elevated fundamental infrastructure like your component library and developer integrations to emphasize the importance of systemizing and managing text across your entire product portfolio.
This product investment also sets the stage for an exciting upcoming product roadmap (if we do say so ourselves). There are some meaty releases coming soon that will make it easier to build out your product text infrastructure faster, in Ditto. Don’t worry, we won’t leave you hanging; here are a few releases we’re particularly excited about:
Auto-components on project import: Build out your component library faster and easier. We’ll help you automatically create components for every new project, so you can spend your precious time configuring and reviewing.
Simplified branching and release workflows: We want to make it easy to enable an editing and/or release workflow for the teams that have Ditto integrated into production. We hope this will make it even simpler for teams to manage product text all the way from draft, through design, and into production.
We’re so excited for teams to take full advantage of all the tools Ditto provides, for everyone from writers, to designers, to developers, and more. We hope this update makes it easy to get going and build the right foundation for product text, to give words their rightful seat at the table. And as always, if you have any feedback, please reach out and let us know what you think!
Success! 🥳 Look forward to Ditto updates in your inbox.
